Bear stepped back beside Rabbit, and stood there with a satisfied smile on his face. But he wondered why all the critters in the yard were snickering and giggling and laughing.

Bear went over the song he'd just sung: “I'm smart enough…I got it…everybody knows I can't sing like a…aw, man…”

Bear realized what he'd just done. He was so embarrassed, he left the critters still laughing in that yard. Nobody saw him for a long, long time.

Now it was Rabbit's turn to sing. Rabbit stepped forward. He looked at the audience awaiting his performance. He looked at Miss Molly's mama. Then he looked at Miss Molly.

Rabbit took a deep, slow breath, and sang the song he had made up:
